The Role

As a leading provider of CAM/CNC software, and additive manufacturing solutions and related services to manufacturing clients in the Canadian marketplace, Ambo Technologies is seeking to fill entry, intermediate, and senior-level positions for applications engineering support based in our Toronto, ON office. The position will provide comprehensive support and professional application services to existing customers and prospects, ensuring successful deployment and efficient use of software and solutions. In this position you will be responsible for demonstrating your ability and enthusiasm to learn and grow productively into this role which includes providing consulting, training, technical support and related value-added services in both a pre-sales and post-sales support capacity. This position requires the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Project teams may include the customer, applications engineers, vendor representatives, partners, contract personnel, and sales/account management and company management. Initial responsibilities will be centered on our Manufacturing/CNC/CAM business and EDGECAM customers, but may also involve duties related to our additive manufacturing business. Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following under the guidance of senior team members: EDGECAM technical support; training development & delivery; system installation, configuration and customization; post-processor development and validation; pre-sales demonstrations and demo preparation; customer needs analysis/value assessments; 2D/3D CAD modeling of tooling, jigs & fixtures, customer parts, and machine tools; contract CNC programming; 2-5 axis milling, turning, and mill-turn support, programming and consulting; technical benchmarks; proposal and scope of work development; market assessments; technical report writing; managing, documenting, recording, and reporting on all activities as prescribed and within our company CRM and other systems according to company policies and procedures; and team member contribution to business planning and operational process optimization to drive continuous improvement in our overall business. You will be driven by your initiative to learn and to a commitment to high standards for quality, meeting customer deadlines, customer service, nurturing long-term customer and partner relationships in a professional manner, and identifying opportunities to contribute to the overall success of our business as it relates to your role. The successful candidate will have a technologist diploma or technical degree with CAD/CAM and CNC machine tool experience in engineering/manufacturing related studies and/or related experience in a manufacturing setting. Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship building skills are a must. The ability to travel is required. Preference will be given to candidates bilingual in English and French and who have interest and experience in a programming language such as Visual Basic or Java.
